Brick by brick: We started assembling the SpaceIL spacecraft
The spacecraft assembly is underway
Recently, at the IAI facility, we started the phase of putting together the different parts of our spacecraft. What we do in this process is “integrate”, or assemble , the various parts of SpaceIL’s spacecraft that will be launched to the moon next year.
This week we put together the basic structure at the IAI’s facility (that’s the Israel Aerospace Industries). The chassis of the spacecraft is made of two perforated “sandwich” boards, upper and lower plates and a ring cone structure. These components, designed by the IAI and manufactured in Spain by IberEspacio, complete the sub-system structure of the spacecraft we intend to launch next year.
